PowerShot Software
Canon's PowerShot software can be split into three categories;
- drivers
- TWAIN, plug-in
- Canon applications
- PhotoStitch, TimeTunnel, ZoomBrowser, SlideShow Maker
- third-party applications
- Ulead PhotoImpact, Adobe PhotoDeluxe, Adobe PhotoShop
Of these three categories, the most commonly used is the drivers. The driver provides a software connection to the camera, and allows pictures to be transferred to the computers standard applications. Canon offers drivers for the PC and MAC as standard since PowerShot 350. A TWAIN driver is for the PC, and the plug-in is for the MAC. As a general rule the driver for a new model PowerShot can also be used with an older model.

Languages key; E-English, F-French, G-German, It-Italian, Sp-Spanish. Canon's applications have only been supplied with their cameras. There is currently nowhere to download updates or patches from. Our suggestion is to contact your local Canon company support department and try to get a copy from them. Canon's own software for producing panoramic images from multiple originals. Originally supplied as a .dll for Ulead PhotoImpact Album with the PowerShot 600 and 350; PhotoStitch became a standalone application for the PowerShot A5. From the A5 version PhotoStitch linked with the camera StitchAssist mode for the simplest results. For the new PowerShot S10, PhotoStitch 3.0 is prepared for both MAC and PC platforms.
Canon's image database and browser software for PowerShot is supplied for European users for the first time with the PowerShot S10, it's been available in the US and Japan for some time. For the new S10, ZoomBrowser is available for MAC users as PowerShot Browser.

PowerShot 600 only supported by reading memory cards, not via parallel port and docking station connection.
